Care & Certification

A fine piece is meant to be worn for a long time. This page covers the reports that accompany our diamonds, what arrives with your piece, and how to look after it once it is yours.

Certification

Every diamond of 0.30 carat and above is certified by the GIA, the Gemological Institute of America. The report is issued by people with no interest in the sale and records the stone's carat weight, colour, clarity and cut. It travels with your piece, and we are happy to show it to you before you decide.

What arrives with your piece

Your piece arrives in a Ralph Karouni box with a pouch, finished with our ribbon, together with the invoice and, where the stone qualifies, its GIA report. If the piece is a gift, we will enclose a gift message with it.

Caring for your jewellery

  • Put your jewellery on last, after fragrance, cream and hairspray.
  • Remove pieces before swimming, bathing, sport or sleeping.
  • Clean gently with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Store pieces separately, in a pouch or a lined box, so stones do not scratch one another.
  • Have settings checked periodically, particularly on rings worn every day.

Servicing and guarantee

Cleaning is complimentary, for as long as you own the piece. Bring it to the boutique in Downtown Beirut and we will clean it, check the settings and tell you honestly how it is wearing.

If a fault in our own workmanship appears, we will put it right. Damage caused after the piece has left us, a knock, an accident, ordinary wear, is not covered by the guarantee, but bring the piece in and we will tell you what can be done and what it would take.

A note on our stones

Where a stone comes from matters to us. If you would like to know more about the origin of a particular stone, ask and we will tell you what we know about it.

Come and see us

Whether you are choosing a piece or caring for one you already own, we are glad to sit down with you at the boutique.
